SECRETSAMPLES are constantly on the lookout for African fabrics with inspiration from the vibrant African markets and with respect to the present Scandinavian trends.

The colors and textiles available at SECRETSAMPLES is currently an assortment of 8 different fabric categories, all from Africa and in 100 % cotton. We intend to keep our fabric collection fluctuating with more than 100 style combinations all year around.

African Wax Print also known as Kitenge is 100 % cotton from Africa.

African Wax Print is an authentic fabric in 100% cotton and comes in forms of vibrant pattern and symbols, which carries many different names and varieties, but is mainly referred to as African Print throughout Africa.

The vibrant colors combined with its innovative designs and patterns are always made with a deeper meaning and gives an extraordinary opportunity to express personality through clothing with an all-around functional aspect, from casual to formal trousers and shorts to dresses and skirts, but can also be used for shirts and tops with or without the combination of other fabric types.

African Wax Prints originates from an old Indonesian wax-resistant dyeing technique referred to as Batik, where the method includes resisting the dye from spreading to all areas of the fabric by printing layers in the process of creating patterns and shapes. This technique has fluctuated the ring of globalization for centuries ending up putting its reflection on the rich African heritage through its symbolic and tribal-like patterns.

African Prints found on SECRETSAMPLES are hand picked and purchased from local African markets through the means of an original heritage. All selected prints are of the highest quality and in limited quantities that contributes in making your African print SAMPLEPRODUCT even more unique as each print is always in limited edition and therefore exclusively unique to each particular design.

African Print fabric is 100% plain woven cotton, and has a light feel in addition to a feeling of great comfort.

Design:
Designs and patterns are always printed and mirrored on the front and back of the fabric.

Washing:
Do not wash higher than 40 degrees celsius.
Air dry for less shrinkage.
Do not chlorine bleach, tumble dry or dry clean.

Cotton Fleece from Kenya in white, navy blue, grey and black all in 100 % cotton and very great quality. Used for SAMPLEPRODUCTS at SECRETSAMPLES designs.
Cotten fleece from Mauritius in 100 % pure cotton. It is imported to Kenya where it is used for SAMPLEPRODUCTS at a Fairtrade production in Nairobi

Kenyan Fleece is a knitted textile with a smooth outside and a brushed inside, that is very soft and shows the knitted method. As Kenyan Fleece is a natural material and 100% cotton, it is less bulky than the traditional synthetic fleece, but it is still recognized for its both warmth absorbency and retention. The fabric is perfect for shirts and comfortable sports leisure wear for pants and shorts.

The manufacturing of fleece as known today started in USA in the 1980s, and is by now used and produced all over the world.  

SECRETSAMPLES offers at the moment 100% cotton Fleece produced at one of the mills in Kenya, which is mainly used for the Pamoja collection in t-shirts, shorts, pants and dresses, but is also found suitable as liner for pants in African wax prints during winter. The assortment available on the website is Light Grey, Black and Navy Blue. The Kenyan Fleece features perfect and well-known comfort.

Olive green jersey cotton from Tanzania. SAMPLEPANTS fabric in great quality from Africa.

The Jersey is from the Mauritius island and is of exclusive quality. It is 100 % cotton and gives the feel of the fabric a very light and smooth touch, which embraces the feel of the particular design. This fabric is mainly used for t-shirts and tank tops. The single knitted Mauritius Jersey is light in weight with a light feel in a very soft and stretchy manner.

Design: Mauritius Jersey has 1 base color, and at the moment it is only offered in a solid black.

Fabric Density: 110 g/m2.

Jersey in quality 100 % cotton from Tanzania and imported to Kenya. Used for SAMPLEPRODUCTS such as t-shirts and SAMPLEPANTS all seasons.

The jersey from Tanzania is a knitted fabric, which originates from medieval times around Jersey in the Channel Islands in Great Britain, where it was only produced in wool, but has throughout time moved on to cotton and polyester.

The jersey used for SECRETSAMPLES clothing are all produced in Africa, and is from all locally grown cotton. The 100% cotton jersey is soft, light-middle weight, ductile and is used for t-shirts and draped garments as dresses and women’s blouses.  The jersey fabric is of excellent quality, and stays in shape even if  washed frequently.  

SECRETSAMPLES offers a variety of plain colors to meet the Scandinavian minimalistic trends, with a base of black, white, navy blue, khaki and also offers you to choose between more significant colors as yellow, terracotta and many more. We mainly use this fabric for t-Shirts and SAMPLEPANTS.

The single knitted Mauritius Jersey is a light to medium in weight with a thicker feel than the Mauritius Jersey, but very stretchy.

Design:
Colors at SECRETSAMPLES will vary from season to season.

Fabric Density: 160 g/m2.

Twill fabric from Africa and used for SAMPLEPRODUCTS for SECRETSAMPLES located in Denmark. This fabric is wrinkle free and good quality.

Twill is a great 100 % cotton fabric from Africa. It is wrinkle free and very soft. It is used for shoulder pads, skirts, Chino shorts and SAMPLEPANTS at SECRETSAMPLES. Good quality.

The Twill fabric is a fabric that is woven with a pattern of diagonal parallel ribs formed left to right and right to left. By passing the left threads over one warp thread and consequently under two or more warp threads, the Twill fabric will be created.

The Twill fabrics are generally heavier and also wrinkle resistant. When compared to plain fabrics, twill fabrics provide more flexible drape and appears in “Khaki” colors which means “Dusty colors”.

According to trends and demands on the Scandinavian and International market, SECRETSAMPLES provide a small and delicate collection of Twill colors sourced from Madagascar. Twill fabrics consist of tweed, gabardine and serge, which are competent of reaching attraction in a particular design.

Jersey in quality 100 % cotton from Tanzania and imported to Kenya. Used for SAMPLEPRODUCTS such as t-shirts and SAMPLEPANTS all seasons.
